JUROR: Caitlyn Shea loves all things scary, sinewy, and dark — and has a special love for Francis Bacon paintings. She is a visual artist specializing in large, fierce paintings. While her palette explores upbeat color interactions, the loosely drawn, often chaotic figures leave a lasting impression of the sublime. Shea continues to exhibit her work in galleries across the U.S. and has received multiple stipends to create public works that bring moments of wonder in N.Y. and beyond. When she is not painting, Shea works as a co-producer for East End Arts JumpstART program and enjoys seeking out odd animals and insects as inspiration for new work.
