Do I have to attend a grants seminar?

What is the application deadline for grants?
Grant applications close at 3:00pm on December 5, 2022
Do I have to be a non-profit to apply?
No, however, all Individual Artist Applicants in the Creative Communities category must apply with a fiscal sponsor or community partner that is a non-profit organization with an address in Nassau or Suffolk county.
Do I have to attend an SCR seminar?
Former DEC workshops are now SCR seminars and all applicants are required to attend at least one for their appropriate category.
Are the SCR Skill Building Sessions required?
No, but they are highly encouraged.
Will I get any additional points on my scoring if I attend any SCR Skill Building sessions?
No.
What is the difference between a fiscal sponsor and a community partner?
A community partner is a non-profit organization that is partnering with an artist/collective or unincorporated group to implement projects/programming/events.
Fiscal sponsorship applies to artists/collectives or unincorporated groups that do not have a residence in Nassau or Suffolk counties and are applying to fund a project/program or event in those counties. The fiscal sponsor must be a non-profit organization based in Nassau or Suffolk County.
